HI Vandana. NLUs offer mostly 5-year LLB programmes. Some NLUs such as NLSIU Bengaluru also offer 3-year LLB. The minimum qualification required to pursue a 5-year LLB is 10+2 or equivalent while the minimum qualification required to pursue a 3-year LLB is graduation in any stream.

You can appear in the Common Law Admission Test to gain admission into 5-year LLB programmes of participating NLUs. Only NLU Delhi and NLU Meghalaya do not participate in CLAT. NLU Delhi conducts its 5-year LLB admission through the All India Law Entrance Test . NLU Meghalaya conducts its 5-year LLB admission through MEG UAT .

NLSIU Bengaluru also offers a 3-year LLB and the admissions are done through NLSAT.

Hi Vandana. You can definitely pursue law after B.Tech. The minimum qualification required for a 5-year LLB is class 12 and the minimum qualification required to pursue a 3-year LLB is graduation in any stream. To gain admission into NLUs, you have to appear for the Common Law Admission Test.

However, two NLUs namely NLU Delhi and NLU Meghalaya do not participate in CLAT. To gain admission into NLU Delhi, you have to appear for All India Law Admission Test. To gain admission into NLU Meghalaya, you have to appear for MEG UG PAT.

NLSIU Bengaluru also offers a 3-year LLB programme. It conducts its 3-year LLB admissions through NLSAT. 5-year LLB

Hey Vandana.

No, you can't pursue LLB from National Law Universities if you want to pursue Law after completion of your Btech degree.

The reason being that, There are 2 types of Law courses in India- 3 year LLB course and 5 year integrated law course. The 3 year law courses are for those law aspirants who have completed any  Undergraduation degree like BA, BCOM, BTECH etc whereas a 5 year law course is for those who are seeking to puruse law directly after class 12th.

As you want to pursue law after Btech a 3 year LLB degree is more suitable for you. National Law Universities in India provide only a 5 year integrated law course which combines an Undergraduate degree with law, for example- BA LLb, BCOM LLb, BBA LLb etc. They don't  provide admission to 3 year law courses.

There are various top colleges with a great faculty, Infrastructure, placement record etc that provide a three year law course too

Hence the exams that you can give for admission into top colleges for 3 year LLB are as listed below

DU LLb- For admission in various centres of Delhi University. This is one of the best colleges for 3 year law.

MH CET-  For admission in Government Law College Mumbai, Indian Law Society Pune and various other law colleges in the state of Maharashtra.

SLAT-  For admission in Symbiosis Law School Pune, for 3 year LLB.

PU LLB- For admission in the law department of Panjab University,Chandigarh and it's regional centres.

TS LAWCET- For admission in various Law colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu

BHU LLB- For admission in Banaras Hindu University.

BVP LLB- For admission in Bharatiya Vidyapeeth University

LSAT- For admission in various Private Law colleges like O.P. Jindal Global Law school, IIT Kharagpur and many more

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA-

You can apply for the various entrance tests given above in your final year of graduation or any time after completion of Btech and you would be eligible to take admission only if you score the minimum qualifying percentage in your UG degree which is usually 45-50% and differes according to each entrance.

The final admission will be based on the procedure laid out by the respective institute which is usuallyon the basis of your ranks or marks in the entrance test.

You can use the link which is given below for any other information regarding the same.
