It's great that you have regained your interest in studies, firstly if you to pursue MA in English, the general eligibility criteria is mostly merit based, it is based on the marks that you obtained in Bachelor's Degree in English, having English as one of the principal subjects. Now most of the college has entrance based on merit, but for some they have their entrance exams like Delhi Technological University, BHU etc.
