Hello Soubhagya,

12 science with approx 50% minimum required.

Complete AME Course 3 yrs, better in Heavy Aircraft, JetEngine approved College. (its a certificate course, DGCA approved, equivalent to diploma but not diploma officially. Now degree in AME also getting started in some universities)

Of this 3 Yr, last 6 month is practical OJT/apprenticeship, college may offer, generally candidate has to find for himself. Heard of paid apprenticeship nowadays.

Need to pass DGCA govt Examinations 14 Modules (objective & some additional subjective exams) simultaneously .

Now Starts the unpredictable: Once U have completed all the DGCA modules, You are eligible to become AME (whos sign is required for releasing the aircraft to fly). & the pay is as per your signing authority (means of which Aircraft & upto what level of work you can certify)

Eligible for AME but not AME. You can now be sponsored by Org for specific Type course on any Aircraft (i.e. ATR, Airbus 320, Boeing 737, Bell 407, Emb145 etc), depending on Organisation requirement. Why they will sponsor you not other of same qualification? After filling the Bond for not leaving the company for some specific years, You will undergo Type Training on specific Aircraft, after approx 1 yr exp on that aircraft, you need to pass skill test (oral exam) at DGCA office (the toughest part). Upon passing, like a driving license of Car Motorcycle with gear etc, u get AME license on that Aircraft.
