First you need to decide the language you want to learn. Once you decide the language,start preparing for the general entrance exam , you should learn about the background, history, culture of Foreign Nations associated to that particular language,you need to have a basic idea,.Because of limited number of seats in JNU, getting admission is quite challenging. However, pursuing foreign language courses in JNU is one of the most sought-after language programs. You need to have a good GK related to the language of your interest. Like know in general about the art, literature, drama, culture, dress, cuisines, geography, Nobel laureates etc. of those countries that uses the language or fall under the cluster of languages for which you are going to apply. Be good at reasoning ,it may include things like coding-decoding (Alphabetical only), blood relations, syllogism, direction and ranking test etc. You should also be good at English,in that section you will be tested for your comprehension skills, vocabulary skills and grammar knowledge,similar to other standard entrances.in addition to this ,you writing skills will also be tested , so you need to write quality essays. There will be a separate section to test the basic of the language of your interest,so cover that too. For current affairs ,follow "The Hindu" newspaper. Constant reading will help a lot. You can easily get preparation books with last year question papers either from the campus or local book stores or from online sties like amazon . R.Gupta is a good option. Solve all previous papers. In case you are still in 11th or 12th , see to it that you score well.
