DU quota system is not for Delhi students but for the students from other parts of India, who also belong to certain backward classes or have performed well in extra currriculur activities. To ensure that every deserving student gets admission at this Central University, the DU quota system has been decided for SC, St, OBC, wards of armed forces, Kashmiri migrants, physically challenged and sports students. The Delhi University or DU is a central university that pays due recognition to the country’s diversity. As it is important to pay attention to students from these categories, the DU quota system ensures to reserve a specific percentage of seats in its colleges for students from varied categories like OBC, SC, ST, and Physically Challenged.
Kashmiri Migrants Quota: Wards of Kashmiri migrants have a reservation of up to 5% course wise per the DU quota system. They also have a relaxation of maximum 10% marks, which is only applicable in the last cut-off set for General category by a specific college. The cut-off may vary by college. Wards of Kashmiri migrants will need to provide a certificate of registration as Kashmiri migrants, issued by the divisional commissioner or relief commissioner.
