Hi Krishna,

The general eligibility criteria for drug inspector is to do B.Pharma or medicine with specializtion in clinical pharmacy/microbiology. For some states it may require additional 18 months experience in manufacturing or testing of schedule C and C1 drug (In UPSC it is there but not mandatory).

After you clear written exams and personal interview you will have to appear for medical test. Medical tests are same as in other government exams:

  • Height and weight measurement: This is only for record purposes. But it is advisable to maintain healthy weight.
  • Bood and Urine test. Blood test is done before and after fasting to detect any abnormal fall or rise in RBC's which happens incase of any disease.
  • Blood Pressure
  • ECG: To monitor heart activity.
  • Lungs test, Diabetes test and X-Ray
  • Eye test: This will also include Color blindness test
  • Examination for Hernia

All of these tests are general and there is no special time required for it.
