Hi

Yes, yes you are eligible for NEET even if you have studied Biology as an additional /optional subject later on after your 12th provided you meet rest of the eligibility criteria

This is because,

The eligibility of students with Biology as an additional / optional subject  is in the supreme court but until it gives its judgement students, these students are eligible for neet

Here's the eligibility criteria for NEET :-

-----------) Qualification required :-As per Neet eligibility to be eligible you must be either appearing for 12th board examination  or should have passed 12th board examination with physics, chemistry ,biology/biotechnology and English as core subject.

††Important Note :- Students who have passed Biology as an additional subject are also provisionally eligible for neet until Supreme Court gives its judgement.

-----------)  Percentage required :- You must get

  • at least 50 % in aggregate of PCB i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in 12th examination if belongs to general category

  • at least 40% in aggregate of PCB if belongs to st/Obc/ Sc

  • at least 45 % in aggregate of PCB in case of pwd candidates to be eligible.

-----------)  Age limit :-to be eligible for neet  one has to be at least 17 years old or more by 31st December in the year of appearing for the examination i. e 31st December 2021 in case of neet 2021, no upper age limit as of now.

So, if you fulfill this Criteria then you are eligible for Neet examination and after qualifying get admission in Medical colleges as well

For detailed information about neet examination eligibility go through our page for which link is provided below; -

Coming to roll number,

While filling the form one needs to fill her / her class 12 Roll number. Thus, you need fill the Roll number which you have on your class 12th certificate and not the Roll number which you have on the certificate of single subject Biology  additional certificate .  During document verification you will have to carry both certificates.

Here's how you can fill neet application form

To fill the application form you need to go through 5 steps i. e

*neet registration :- first of all visit the official website of neet i. e ntaneet  to generate your login credentials,

*then fill the form i. e you need to fill your personal academic and contact details

*and after that you need to go for uploading your documents,

*then pay the application fee

  • General :-   1500/-

  • General-EWS/ OBC-NCL :-   1400

  • SC/ST/PwBD/Third Gender :- 800

  • Foreign candidate :-  7500

*And finally you should take the printout of confirmation page.

golu nagar If you had appeared for all the subject examination then you could have filled your new roll number but as you passed biology as a single subject you need to fill your o12th board roll no and note the roll number of Biology additional because
Though you passed biology as a single subject, your class 12th certificate/roll number remains the same.

One important to note down is that,
After passing biology as a single subject, it is biology which is getting added into subject list in class 12th certificate and you will have to carry your biology single subject certificate along with 12th certificate everywhere and not the other way round.

Thus, you need to fill 12th roll number and not that of biology additional.
