Hi,
The vision must be 6/6 as per the DG Shipping standards. These days they do allow glasses but you could opt for a lasik operation to correct your vision and apply for marine engineering. there are conditions for the sight test and it is mandatory through authorised doctors. Check here . See the first half is in Hindi but check the english version which starts midway.
