No, I think right now you should focus on your B.Tech syllabus properly. And in 3rd year you should start your preparation for GATE 2019 and once you are done with the entire syllabus then you can go for online mocks to check your preparation

The GATE exam is organised jointly by seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the Indian Institute of Science (IIs) Bangalore. However, every year, one of these institutes holds the sole authority to set regulations of the exam and to declare the results. The eight zones include:
