I suggest you to apply for the best colleges you could get into, within the range of your marks because students who are scoring better marks than you would be landing up in one of the colleges which you have given in your first preferences and that would make you less desirable to be placed the college preffered by you. If you chose the best college within your score and keep it as one of your top choices, it would be chosen as your first preference. Hence, you'd be having a chance to get into a college you deserve.
