For admission in MBA program there are few standard exams:
1.) CAT: A national level exam conducted by IIMs each year to admit students in 19 IIMs and other institutions as well which consider CAT scores. The forms for CAT are declared usually by the second week of September every year and conducted in the last week of November or first week of December. (for the past two years, it was conducted on 4th Dec, 2016 and 26th Nov. 2017 respectively). Results are declared by the first week of January followed by release of cutoffs and calls from various IIMs and institutes by February first week. GD-WAT-PI processes start from the last week of February and are carried out till first week of April depending upon which location of interview you had opted for. Top three IIMs declare their results by April mid whereas the next series of IIMs release their first shortlist by April end followed by consequent shortlists. New IIMs declare their results by May mid.
After declaration of result of any institute you will be asked to deposit a part of first installment of fees within one or two weeks in order to confirm your admission.
2.) XAT: Forms are out by November and exam is held in the first week of January. An exam conducted by Xaviers Institute(XLRI, Jamshedpur) , to provide admission in HRM, General Management and Business Management. Exam pattern is similar to that of CAT, only decision making ability is also tested here.
3.) IIFT: Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, conducts this exam in the last week of November. Forms are out by October end and September first week. Results are declared by December last week.
4.) SNAP: Conducted by Symbiosis International University.
5.) CMAT: conducted in January last.
6.) MAT
7.) NMAT: Conducted by GMAC. An exam conducted in window between Oct to Dec. You can chose a date of your preference to give this exam.
Few of the best colleges for supply chain management and logistics that you prefer are:
* S. P JAIN, MUMBAI
*NITIE MUMBAI
*IIT MUMBAI
*Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai
Note: None of the colleges provide any specialisation. You get a general PGDM or synonymous degree at the end of the two year of MBA. However, you can choose supply chain management and logistics as your elective subject in the second year.
Hope this helps.
All the best!!
