Percentile is calculated as how you performed in the exam and what is your score out of all the candidates and how many have score below your score and above your score. After all these analysis , percentile is given.

Rank is based on your score and number of candidates ahead  of you will be the main factor to increase or decrease your rank. The more you score in the exam , your rank will decrease for sure.
