Each candidate has the chance to appear for Jee Main two times for three consecutive years which means one can sit for Jee Main for maximum 6 times. And it's not mandatory to sit for both the sessions of Jee Main in a year. If one appears for both the sessions, the best of two scores is considered for admission and Jee advanced. Now you have appeared for Jee Main January session 2020 and if you meet the qualifying cutoff for Jee Advanced which will be released after the conduction of Jee Main September Session, you'll be eligible to write Jee Advanced. Even in this year, your 12th marks will not be considered. You just have to show your passing certificate and if you meet the qualifying cutoff and other criteria, you'll be eligible for Jee Advanced. Last year the qualifying cutoff was-
Common Rank List - 89.7548849
General-EWS - 78.2174869
OBC NCL - 74.3166557
Scheduled Caste - 54.0128155
Scheduled Tribe - 44.3345172
PwD - 0.11371730

From last year 2019 National Testing Agency (NTA) began conducting two JEE Main; one in January and the other in April. It also introduced the percentile system of evaluation since now JEE Main was being conducted in some days and many shifts.

For the evaluation of final result the better of the two scores (one from January and other from April) is taken into consideration. For those candidates who appeared in only one session i.e. any one of either January or April the evaluation will be done based on single examination they appeared in.

Therefore, you have appeared in January only and hence your result will be evaluated based on this only. And you will be eligible to write JEE Advanced provided you meet the other eligibility criteria and surpass the minimum cutoff.

Wish you all the best.

Hello,
Yes,if your jee January percentile is more than the cutoff then you will definitely be eligible for Jee advanced irrespective of whether you have given jee September exam or not.
Only the best score of two attempt is taken into account and since you will attempt only one, then your that one will only be considered.
