Many universities do not obey age limitation but certain universities do not approve any candidates over the age of 30 years. And the Work experience is not mandatory but most universities prefer students with prior media and journalism work experience.
To get admission into M. A mass communication, some universities conducts their respective entrance exam and some universities like Doon Business School do not conduct entrance exam but intake students based on the marks scored in your graduation and your performance in personal interview.
The general process of admission involves several rounds. First is Entrance Test, this test has two sections namely subjective and objective. This entrance exam will test candidate's language and creative writing skill. And the conventional topics for the entrance exam are : 1. Reading and Language comprehension 2. Logical and Analytical reasoning 3. Mass communication and media Aptitude 4. General knowledge and current affairs. Students will be shortlisted for Group Discussion and Personal Interview Round after the entrance exam. The admission is given to select few students based on the cumulative performance in the entrance test, group discussion and personal interview.
