As per the guidelines mentioned by the flying branch of NDA.

You are eligible for NDA(flying branch). Since, you are only 17 years old with a height of 161.5cm which is quite good and you are from Kumaon region which hails in northeastern part of India, for northeastern girls the minimum height criteria is 148cm .

A 2cm relaxation is provided for the candidates below 18 years of age, because the height required for flying branch is 163 cm. So, be happy you are eligible.

Really sorry to say but you're not eligible for the flying branch of NDA as your height is 161.5 and according to the eligibility criteria the height of the female candidate for flying branch the minimum height that you should have is 162.5 cms. But please don't be sad and stay calm and measure your height again may be its little bit there only.

The physical requirements for Female Candidates for NDA is as following-

• The minimum required height for female candidates in Armed Forces is 152 cm. Gorkhas, Garhwal, and Kumaon candidates, along with the candidates from North-Eastern Hills of India will be allowed with a minimum of 148 cm.

• For the Flying Branch, the minimum required height is 163 cm.

• Allowance of 2 cm will be made for candidates below the age of 18 yrs .

• Body Mass Index should be below 25.

•The waist to hip ratio should be below 0.9 for males and 0.8 for females.

• Waist Circumference should be less than 90 cm for males and 80 cm for females.

There are certain eligibility criteria that one has to fulfil to be able to write the National defence academy/Naval Academy or NDA/NA examination.

• Academic wise eligibility criteria is-

Candidates must be 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Most of the time age is the deciding factor for eligibility. Now the age wise eligibility criteria is that the candidate must be between 16.5 to 19.5 years of age.

Also for the NDA 2022 examination the DOB of the candidates for the two attempts is as following-

• NDA -1, 2022

DOB Between - 2nd July 2003 to 1st July , 2006

• NDA - 2, 2022

DOB Between- 2nd January , 2004, to 1st January , 2007
