Iam a 2020 batch bds student in a private college in Kerala. I have egrantz scholarship and four year's fees are already paid. But I stopped attending classes due to continuous failures for almost 1 year. Will I face any legal problems for silently quitting this course without doing any formalities

Quitting a BDS course without completing formalities, even if you have already paid the fees and hold an Egrantz scholarship, can potentially lead to some issues. Here’s what you should consider:

  1. College Policies :

    • Most institutions have specific procedures for withdrawal or discontinuation. Failing to follow these procedures could lead to complications, such as penalties or issues with your academic record. Check your college’s policy on discontinuation or withdrawal to understand the formalities required.
  2. Scholarship Implications :

    • Since you have received an Egrantz scholarship, not formally withdrawing could affect the scholarship provider's records. You might be required to inform the scholarship authorities about your decision to discontinue the course to avoid any future issues related to scholarship repayments or eligibility.
  3. Legal and Financial Consequences :

    • If you are bound by a contract or have any pending dues or liabilities, failing to follow proper procedures could potentially lead to legal or financial issues. It’s important to settle any financial obligations with the college.
  4. Documentation :

    • Obtain written confirmation of your withdrawal from the college and keep all related documents. This can help in case of disputes or issues related to your academic or financial status.

To avoid any potential problems, it’s advisable to formally notify the college and scholarship authorities of your decision. This ensures that all records are updated, and you comply with any necessary procedures.
