Hello,

There is not much difference in obc category students and general students.You need to score a minimum of 170 marks in jee mains to get your choice of branch in a good NIT.But to get any NIT with any branch  140 will be wnough score.To get details of cutoff trends of NITs you may click the below given link:

There are various colleges that participate in the JEE mains exam for the seat allocation to the students so for the OBC category student I would suggest you to score 150 + marks to remain on the safe side and you could get a better branch also.
