Admission to 21 central and 15 state affiliated IHMs are granted through the all India level National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology Joint Entrance Examination (NCHM JEE). There are two more national level entrance exams, which are: International Institute of Hotel Management Electronic Common Hospitality Admision Test  (e-CHAT) and All India Management Association Under Graduate Aptitude Test (AIMA UGAT).
