if 50% of x is equal to the sum of y and 20, then what is the value of x-2y?

Hello Student,

Given:

0.5x = y+20

Hence by multiplying both sides by 2,

x= 2y+40

From this equation we can figure out x-2y  by just taking the y variable to the other side.

Hence x-2y will give 40.

The answer is 40.
