Correct Answer: 30 litres

Solution : Given,
60 litres of milk solution has 40% milk in it.
Quantity of milk = $60\times\frac{40}{100}$
⇒ Quantity of milk = 24 litres
⇒ Quantity of water = 60 - 24
⇒ Quantity of water = 36 litres
According to the question,
The new solution has 60% milk and 40% water.
Now, If 40% of water = 36 litres
Quantity of milk = $\frac{36}{40}\times 60$ = 54 litres
So, Quantity of milk required = 54 – 24 = 30 litres
Hence, the correct answer is 30 litres.
