if 75percentage criteria remove then what is minimum percent required to get admission in iit college

Hi

Admission in IITs is through JEE advanced.

JEE  advanced eligibility criteria is given below :-

---------------------) you need to pass your class 12th with at least 75% marks in aggregate in class 12 if belong to general or obc category or at least 65% marks if belongs to SC/ST or must be in the top 20 percentile in class 12 examination.This minimum percentage barrier in 12th was lifted off for the year 2021 i. e jee advanced 2021, if lifted again for jee advanced 2022 , then NTA will notify about it .

If 75% in 12th criteria gets removed then to be eligible, you should have at least passed your 12th board examination i. e  at least 33 % which is passing marks in case of most boards like CBSE etc.

5 Subjects to be considered for calculating aggregate percentage are :-

  • Physics

  • Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject.

  • Mathematics

  • A language

  • Any subject other than listed above

----------------------) You can give JEE advanced examination for the maximum of consecutive 2 years starting from the year of appearing for your 12th examination i. e to be eligible for JEE advanced 2022 your 12th board examination appearing year should be either 2022 or 2021

††† IMPORTANT NOTE:- For Jee advanced 2022 , it has been recently notified that those who missed Jee advanced 2020/2021 are eligible for jee advanced   2022 means those passed 12th in 2020  but missed jee advanced 2020/2021 are also eligible for jee advanced 2022.This decision has been taken considering the covid pandemic. -----------------------) There is upper age limit, according to which to be eligible for jee advanced 2022, you should be born on or after 1st October 1997. There is 5 years of age relaxation for SC, ST and PwD so candidates of SC/ST /PWD needs to be  born on or after October 1, 1992.

-----------------------) you must qualify JEE main  2022 to be eligible for jee advanced 2022.

To give you an idea of the jee main qualifying cut off percentile to be eligible for jee advanced,  jee main 2021 cut off percentile to be eligible for jee advanced 2021 is given below :-

  • general :-87.8992241 percentile

  • EWS:- 66.2214845 percentile

  • OBC-NCL :- 68.0234447 percentile

  • SC :- 46.8825338 percentile

  • ST:- 34.6728999 percentile

  • PWD :- 0.0096375 percentile

Hello Aspirant,

See 75% criteria was only removed for last 2 years due to the pandemic and now this year there is much probability that it would get restored but still we have to wait for any official announcement to guide you with exact percentage required for admission to IITs on the basis of JEE-Advance.

Either the percentage criteria will get restored or it would be conducted as per the previous year where there was no percentage criteria of class 12th, so I would recommend you to wait until any notification gets out.
