Andhra University, established in 1926, is one of the oldest institutes in India for Higher Education and the first residential and teaching-cum-affiliating University in India. The University runs as many as 313 courses in Arts, Science and Technology, Commerce, Engineering, Management, Law, Pharmacy and Education.
The admission process to the UG programs generally starts in the month of April every year. The admission to PG programs is conducted from March onwards. The selection criteria for admission to the programs ranges from marks scored in qualifying examination to performance in state-level or university-level entrance examinations.
The University conducts AUCET for admission to a majority of PG programs offered at its departments. Admission to Integrated B.Tech.+M.Tech. and other B.Tech. programs, the University takes admission through AUEET . Some of the other examinations through which the University takes admission are APICET for MBA and MCA courses, AP LAWCET for admission to Law courses, and AURCET for Research courses.
The University follows the reservation Policy as laid down by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The University has 85% of seats reserved for local candidates. The University also has 33.33% of total seats available reserved for women candidates.
