Correct Answer: 50 minutes
Solution : Time = $\frac{distance }{speed}$ Let, he cover 20 km at the speed of 8 km/hr be t minutes early. $\frac{20}{5} - \frac{20}{8} = \frac{t+40}{60}$ $\frac{160-100}{40}=\frac{t+40}{60}$ $\frac{60}{40}=\frac{t+40}{60}$ $90 = t+40$ $t= 90 - 40 = 50$ minutes Hence, the correct answer is 50 minutes.
