hello,

Admission to NITs is done if you qualify admission cutoff in jeemain. There are two types of cutoffs.one is qualifying cutoff and other is admission cutoff.qualifying cutoff in jeemains helps you write jee advanced,it doesnt neccesarily help you fetch seat in NITs.but admission cutoff is cutoffs for admission into NITs.so if you cant qualify jeemain in any session there will be no chance for you to write jee advanced nor helps you fetch seat in NITs.so fetch seat in NITs you need to qualify admission cutoff.so if you are from general category 98+ percentile helps you fetch seat in few of top NITs atleast 95+ will help you fetch seat in NITs.

hope this helps,

thankyou.

Hi

It's completely ok even if you fail to qualify jee advanced examination, you can still can still participate in josaa counselling  get admission in nits, IIITs etc on the basis of jee main.

Seats are alloted on the basis of your rank in jee main

And your best percentile out of all the 4 jee main sessions is considered for providing you rank and thus the admission process

For example,

If you get 95,  93 , 98 and 97 percentile in the 4 sessions respectively.

Then your best percentile i. e 98 percentile is considered for providing you rank ( your rank will be mentioned in your jee main 4th session result )  and thus you can participating josaa counselling with your rank and can get admission in NITs etc the basis of your rank
