Correct Answer: 4

Solution : Given: $2x-5y=5$ and $2x-y=9$.
⇒ $2x=5+5y$ ----------(1)
⇒ $2x=9+y$ -----------(2)
Comparing equation (1) and (2), we get:
⇒ $5+5y=9+y$
⇒ $4y=4$
⇒ $y=1$
Putting the value of $y$ in equation (1),
$2x=5+5×1$
⇒ $2x=10$
⇒ $x=5$
So, $(x-y)=5–1$
⇒ $(x-y)=4$
Hence, the correct answer is 4.
