If degree percentage is below 50% ,then he/she will be able to give CAT entrance examination or what ?
Here you can have a look
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must read theeligibility criteriabefore applying for CAT 2018:
Qualifying Exam:Applicants must hold the Bachelor Degree in any discipline from a recognized institution.
Minimum Marks:Aspirants have to score minimum50% marksin aggregate (45% marks for SC/ST and PwD candidates).
Appearing Candidates:Applicants those who are appearing in final year examination can also apply.
CS/CA/ICWA candidates are also eligible to apply.
So it is a daunting task ahead as you can see here if you are from general category you need to score atleast 50%. The chances of getting a good college after scoring good percentile are not so bright.
Nevertheless don't loose hope and keep working towards your goal. You will get a success.
Cheers !!
So in your case if you are a general/OBC category student then with your degree percentage below 50% will not be eligible for CAT exam.
Instead of CAT exam you can give XAT exam which does not have any academic boundations like the CAT exam.
But still I will like to tell you that most of the colleges have the same eligibility criteria of having more than 50%. So it's going to be very difficult for you to find a very good college even after scoring very high percentile. And the colleges you might get will not be worth for pursuing your MBA degree.
So please I strongly recommend to rethink about your career decision.
All the best!!
