if diploma holder take admission in direct second year in b.tech . then diploma and degree both courses are parallel.

Hello!
Diploma in engineering is a three year course and senior secondary is of two years. In the diploma course, students study engineering specific topics but in senior secondary, they study just Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
To compensate the extra one year of diploma students keeping in mind that they have studied engineering-specific subjects for three years, colleges offer lateral entry to the second year of B.Tech course for them.
There is too much difference between Diploma and Degree and Degree is always preferred over Diploma.
