A B.Sc Forensic Science stands for a bachelor of science degree in the forensic science branch. It is a specialised programme designed and developed for individuals who want to pursue a career in forensics. It is an undergraduate degree programme. The duration of the B.Sc Forensic Science is three years. It is a B.Sc. course and forms a part of forensic science study.
It is one of the least competitive courses and hence has a higher scope with rise in demand of forensic experts. B.Sc Forensic Science provides the training to individuals to provide support to investigation of crimes and identify suspects from the materials found on crime scenes such as blood, bodily fluids, finger prints, fibres of clothes and DNA profiling.

A crime scene investigator is also known as CSI. He or she is responsible for providing every possible piece of evidence from the crime scene. A CSI is indispensable during court trials as their professional testimony is of great importance in the courtroom.
Crime Laboratory Analyst
A crime laboratory analyst is a specialised forensic scientist who is merely responsible for analysing the evidence found from crime scenes to suspect the actual culprit and exonerate the wrong accused. He or she applies the principles of biochemistry, molecular biology and genetics to test blood, other body fluids and DNA.
Forensic Psychiatrist
A forensic psychiatrist is responsible for working closely with the legal system to defend and stand trials, provide expert witness testimony in court, provide support for sentencing and defence tactics, solve crime investigations, treat illnesses of criminals with mental disorders.
Forensic Serologist
A forensic serologist is a forensic scientist responsible for testing and analysing the human fluids collected from the crime scenes. It includes blood, saliva, urine and other bodily fluids. His or her findings provide support to investigate the suspect and determine the cause of death or other crime.
