If I am appearing for cat exam after same year of completion of graduation then is it gap year?
Mostly this is a negative point during your interviews and the interview will ask you about this and can also compare you with a candidate who do not have a gap year. But it is not very tough to convince the interviewer about the gap year if you have good convincing skills. If you are able to convince the interviewer you can easily be selected for the institute.
All the best!
But you font need to worry about that, it will.gardly affect your selection process. Generally it's just a genuine question asked in the starting of your interview and you need to give a proper reason why you took the drop. Your reason should not only be for preparation of CAT exam, if you're not working then you need to have something else as your reason so as to justify your action.
If you will say only CAT preparations then it can create a negative impression on interviewer's mind. If you are not able to find out any other reason then you can show some of the relevant courses that you were doing along with CAT preparations.
Still I am saying it won't effect much on your selection process of if you are able to score a very high percentile and give rest of your interview in a good way.
All the best!!
