if i am doing BA LLB Hons and i know its a five year course ..is it possible to sit in IAS examination in the third year itself?
Faria, though BA LLB is an integrated course, you get your Original degree and relevant certificates only after the completion of the course, You do not get 2 certificates at completion of BA and LLB. In such case, you cannot appear for UPSC post the completion of just BA. You will have to complete the course and then appear for UPSC. Or you can even appear for UPSC in your final year.
You can give IAS only after completing your full five year BA-LLB degree program as UPSC CSE demands a graduation degree from a recognized university. Yes, you can also give in final year but not in third year of BA-LLB.
So, either you complete your full five time graduation program or in the final year, you can give.
You can give IAS test but make sure that your institution provides a provisional certificate to you after completion of three years because that will be considered same as any other graduation.
Before that you can not sit in the exam.
Hope it helps.
Thankyou
