12th standard marks are necessary for getting shortlisted in IIMs.  All IIMs and some other institutes have their own process of shortlisting students where they take into consideration the 10th%, 12th%, graduation and other details.

You can absolutely get into iims after 12th standard  provided you must have your Bachelor's degree with 50 percent aggregate and this is mandatory. Even in your final year of Bachelor's degree you can still apply for IIMs as there is a relaxation of 5 percent in  graduation marks for some candidates based on their respective castes.

Yes you can definitely get into any of iims if you score below 60% in your 12th class as for filling cat exam form you need 50% marks in your graduation if you fullfill this criteria and score good in your cat exam then you will definitely get iim.

See, the thing is that to get in IIMs one need to be great in academics in past too.For instance let me explain you that for IIMs you must have excellent marks in 10th,12th and graduation respectively because that only will help you to stand apart from other aspirants. IIMs are very prestigious and getting into them require a lot.
