Hi Vivek,

To get admission in NIT or IIT you have to either have atleast 75 percent marks in class 12 or be in the top 20 percentile of your board. Since you fulfill one of these conditions, you can get admission in NIT orIIT of your choice and do not need to take a drop.

Hope this helps.

You didn't understand my question I have only scored 84%ile in jee  which is not sufficient I think for admission in NIT/IIT. My question is that if I belong to top 20%ile this year but have >75%! Will the top 20%ile  criteria work for next year also or Do I have to get 75% in boards?
