I suggest you to only give improvement in  maths as if you give in all subjects then your your marksheet will be new and with the the score you get in improvement exam if you fill in all 5 then make sure you have to score equal or more then previous year

Hi! Thank you for your answer.I am thinking about appearing in all the subjects because, BITS accepts improvement marks, only if I have appeared for improvement in all the subjects. They require a 75% aggregate in PCM, which I have but they also require minimum 60% individually in P, C and M. And I don't have 60% in Maths. Now, since I am taking a drop year only to study for the entrance exams, I don't want to dedicate time for boards preparation for all the subjects and I have already scored more than 90 in the rest of the subjects. That's why I was thinking of focusing only on maths in the improvment exam, and just appear for the exam in the rest of the subjects.Hence, I was wondering if I do that and score bad in the rest of the subjects, then will my previous marks appear in the improved mark sheet?

The good thing about improvement exams is there is no decline in marks. Those who are feeling low about their marks or want to reach a threshold marks can give improvement exams and if you score less than it will not be counted and your previous marks will remain as it is. If successful then it can be added in the marks list and the total marks will enhance. You don't have to worry if marks get low or not. Just focus on improving the performance and write the exam with more preparation.

All the best.

So, does that mean that if I score above 56 in maths but score less that what I got in the first attempt for all the other subjects, then in the improved mark sheet, the improved score of maths will be there and for the rest of the subjects, the previous marks will appear?

Hello Rahul,

For your kind information the improvement Examination conducted by CBSE in order to make students improve their low score but if the student scores very bad marks in improvement exam than the regular Examination then the marks remains unchanged. I would suggest you to prepare well for the improvement exams and score good instead of thinking about scoring bad.

If you get lower marks in a subject in improvement than you previous marks will be added.

Because its the examination for improvement, and if there is “no improvement”, then obviously the previous marks are the final.
