No it is not. When you attend VIT Counselling during registration, you pay a non refundable amount of Rs.10,000. If you have been allotted a seat then, you need to take a DD of Rs.50,000 towards the confirmation of the seat. Now let's say you have paid the Rs.10,000 and attended the Counselling. You have been allotted a seat but do not want to take it up. You will have to forgo the Counselling fee of Rs.10,000 which will not be refunded to you. But you need not pay the DD of Rs.50,000 and confirm the seat. This is because you do not want to take admission. So it is not necessary to take admission because you have attended the Counselling. At the end of the day, it is always your call to either take up the seat allotted or not.
