If i am not puzzled, you are asking about the examinations which will lead you to the Goverment job.

Well to start with, there are various fields for the goverment job and you have to select the field in which you want to appear.

For Engineering you can give Engineering services, GATE and Railways examination.

For other ( including Engineering background) you can give SSC, NDA, SBI PO and if you want to do something crazy then you can opt. for UPSE ( Civil Services Exam).
