Hi,

JOSAA counselling is consisted for the admission in IITs, NIT, IIIT, GFTI. With so many choices to take up , a candidate is given choice to put a seat to float. This means that if the candidate is happy with the seat, but also wants to see if he can get any other better college or branch then a seat will be saved in previous branch and won't run out in the previous branch. For eg. If you are getting EE at first. So you put it to float, so your seat will be saved their. Then if you get Mechanical then you remove that float and freeze the mechanical seat.

Now as you say that if you if you don't accept the seat then yes surely you can go for the next round, although if I would've got chance I would've put a seat to float then moved forward to next round.

Now it's your choice.

I wish you all the best

Thank you
