Since the selection ratio of the exam is so low, it doesn't always mean that the preparations weren't up to the mark.
Sit down, analyse your mistakes. Work to improve them.
Know your strengths and maintain them.
Also make sure that you do not join a course as a ‘backup plan’ if its not too much of a problem. Many students join a B. Sc. or other course just to be on safe side. But it does take a part of your time and prevents you from putting in 100% effort.
Now, if it really was your last attempt or if you don't wish to continue preparation,you could go for a course in Biotechnology or Microbiology etc. The scope of these is increasing.
