Dear Hazel, say if you hold domicility of Haryana and by mistake you chose Himachal Pradesh, because NTA doesn't know your personal details as such, your application will be accepted and admit card will be released. Now let's say you qualify for NEET, NTA us still under the impression that your domicile is that of Himachal Pradesh and so when Himachal Pradesh releases its 85% State merit list, if your name is shortlisted, you will have tonproof your domicility during the counselling. Now here there is a problem because you have the domicile cetificate of Haryana and the certificate says the same. You cannot seek admission in Himachal Pradesh with Haryana domicile certificate. You can only still get a seat in Himachal Pradesh under 15% All India Quota. For that matter, you can try for a seat in any State except for J&K, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana under All India Quota. Having said this, you might lose your State quota eligibility because you dont have the domicile certificate for the State you applied and for the State you have domicile certificate, you didnt select it as State Eliginbility quota.

Hello aspirant,

Thanks for contacting Careers 360.

You will have no problem in appearing for NEET UG Entrance Examination. But the problem will be when you would applying for State Merit List. Since you have wrongly filled your domicile, you cannot successfully complete the State Couseling Procedure due to the fact that your documents wont be able to get verified during the verification time (when your state will call for verification of documents while producing the State Merit List).

So, the only way via which you can get a medical college under NEET, is via 15 percent All India Quota. The cut off will definitely be higher as compared to State Quota Cut off. And assuming you are a general/unreserved candidate, I would suggest you to target for a score of 570+ for a sure shot selection in a government medical college under All India Quota.

Thank You

Best Of Luck
