The Cutoff will be based on various parameters like numbers of applying candidates, total numbers of seats and last year admission record.

In year 2016 closing rank for different branches were:
CSE-733
ME -785
EE -1223
CE -1368
ECE-1649
CHE-2253

There are a  total of 660 seats with 120 in each CSE, CE, EE, ECE and 60 in CHE. If you are able to fetch a general rank under 400 it is most likely that you can get any branch of your desired choice. There are various quota seats which can bear general rank up to 25000.

If you have got 400 marks , your rank would be somewhere between 1000 and 2500. If your desired branch is cse or me it will be difficult to get a seat unless you can avail reservation benefits.  You can get most other branches in the general category itself .
