Hi,

This has been a debatable topic since a very long time. The answer merely depends your state policies. In most of the colleges, compulsory rural postings are mandatory. They cannot write the PG exams without it. Recently states like Maharashtra, Karnataka , etc has made it mandatory for MBBS students. The students who dont complete are not eligible to write the further exam of PG. You need to get clarity for the state you are studying now.
