If I get a seat in the first round counselling for NEET in a college which i don't want, what do I do next? Can i apply for the 2nd round?
NEET 2024: Cutoff (OBC, SC, ST & General Category)
NEET 2024 Admission Guidance: Personalised | Study Abroad
NEET 2025: Syllabus | Most Scoring concepts | NEET PYQ's (2015-24)
I have often come across this issue and I know this actually is a problem for quite a many students during the Counselling procedure.
As per the norms set up by NTA, even if you don't want the particular college which has been alloted to you in the 1st Round of Seat Allocation, you have to take admission in there before you can contest for Round 2.
If you fail to take admission in the alloted college in Round 1, you are automatically turned down from the Counselling Procedure.
Once you take the admission, you just need to mention your will to Take Further Participation in Round 2 and that's it, you can apply for it.
But, if you fail to upgrade to the next college due to filling up of seats, then you "MUST CONTINUE WITH COLLEGE PREVIOUSLY ALLOTED".
There won't be any options left after that.
Hope this helps.
Best Wishes !
