Hi,

You should have achieved minimum of 75% marks in your 12th class to take admission in IIT or NIT colleges. There will be no meaning of your good rank in JEE Exam if you obtained less than 75% marks in the 12th Examination.

Hello,

The criteria is either 75% or within top 20 percentile of your respective board, whichever is lowest is applicable and Yes if you could not meet the above requirement you won't be allowed to write the Advance.

If you are in CBSE board then definitely 75% criteria will work as 20 percentile criteria generally ends up at 84 or 85%. But if you are in some other board say Uttar Pradesh board then their 20 percentile criteria lies around 65% (not appropriately) thus for them 20 percentile criteria will work as it is lower than 75%.

Hello Sumita.

You need to have at least 75% in your board exams to be eligible for admissions into IIT and NIT. Even if you have JEE AIR 1 but <75%, you wont be eligible for an admission.

So in case you haven’t secured 75% in boards, I highly recommend you to write improvement exam and aim for 85% atleast.

Hello,

I am sorry to tell you that you are not eligible to get admission in any of the IITs/NITs/IIITs even if you clear jee mains and advanced examinations. You need to have atleast 75% aggregate in class 12th board exam or your marks needs to be under top 20 percentile of your respective board.

Good luck.
