Good afternoon !!!
Hope you doing well.
See, if you hate chemistry even then you can do food technologist course as the main subjects to do food technology is maths and physics.
As the eligibility criteria for applying in food technology is :
So, don't worry dear if you hate chemistry , you can opt biology amd biotechnology instead of chemistry so that you can much more marks in course.
Hope this will be helpful.
Revert if any query.
Thank you!!!!
Hello,
Hope you are doing great!
Food Technology is a science branch that deals with the techniques involved in the production, processing, preservation, packaging, labeling, quality management, and distribution of food products. The field also involves techniques and processes that are used to transform raw materials into food. Extensive research goes behind making food items edible as well as nutritious.
As deep as we go into the dimensions of food technology, we require professionals in this field. And, this has led to the emergence of food technology courses. There are a plethora of opportunities for students who wish to pursue a course in food technology. Graduates or postgraduates in the course can seek jobs in different domains such as restaurants, catering establishments, hospitals, food processing companies, etc.
And,
Chemistry has major importance in Food Processing sector. Food chemistry is the study of chemical processes and interactions between all biological and non-biological components of foods. It informs us about changes in foods taking place during processing and storage. one needs to have basic knowledge of Biology, Chemistry and Physics as this course are the building blocks of the Food technology course.
Students can opt to pursue a degree, diploma, or doctorate program in food technology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
To pursue the course at the undergraduate level, candidates should clear Class 12 th in Science stream with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Home Science and minimum qualifying marks as prescribed by a university/ college (usually 50% - 60%).
To pursue a food technology course at the postgraduate level, candidates should possess a BSc (in Physics, Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry) or B.tech/ BE (in food technology) degree with the minimum qualifying marks as prescribed at a university/ college.
All the best!
Hope it will help!
Thank you!
Dear applicant it's true that the Eligibility criteria of the Food Technology course remains such that you need to have Chemistry as your subject combinations. However if you pursue the course later you will discover that there are other different subjects too to help you become a Food Technologist, focus on them and you will get s good score even if your Chemistry is weak or you dislike it.
Good luck!!
