SSC CPO consists of four stages,Paper-I is in MCQs format in English as well as Hindi with negative marking of 0.25 marks from four sections carrying 50 questions each with 50 marks;
And there' Paper-II which consists of English Language and Comprehension with 200 questions in MCQs format carrying 200 marks. There's negative marking scheme of 0.25 marks.
First of all the most important thing is to be acquainted with the syllabus, this will help you know what to read and skip.

Make sure to keep your resources minimal, also go through mock tests or test series regularly at later point when you're near to appearing for examination. Also, in order to ace General Awareness, reading newspaper on a daily basis is must to keep yourself updated as well as you don't have to mug up all the news at once during examination time, you can choose between The Hindu or The Indian Express, in the past few years even Reading Comprehensions have been taken directly from The Hindu, it's good for English as well as General Awareness portion.
