Hello candidate
You have passed your intermediate with a PCM stream. Food technology is a branch of food science that deals with the production, preservation, quality control and research and development of the food products. Food technology is an engineering subject which is to be studied by the science stream students. An engineer has to study the pcm subjects mandatorily in order to opt for the engineering career during their college years.
Yes, you can easily take food technology course if you have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Maths in your Intermediate.
But you also need to study basic Biology along with General Microbiology, Foof Microbiology, biochemistry etc. in the course.
So, as a food technologist, we need to study mathematics and biology both in order to completely understand the concepts.
For example, calculus level mathematics is required to study heat and mass transfer operations, to find the probability of growth of possible microorganisms with the help of a growth chart (semi-log graph), etc.
Feel free to ask your queries and all the best for your future endevaours.

Dear student,
Since you already had physics, chemistry and mathematics till your class 12th , doing Btech in food technology will not be a problem and you can easily do this course , however you will have to give in efforts in order to get a complete idea of the concepts because an application of biology , physics and mathematics will be needed to understand food technology in detail the chemical formulas will be required and mathematics is the most important in this field , therefore do not worry because at the end of the day your efforts are the ones which will lead to your future.
