Hello,
Even for year 2018, you can appear jee mains in 2020. It has 3 attempts which means 2018,2019 ,2020.
For current year, if you have a good score in jee mains then you can appear for jee advance. Merit list for Jee advance is released by NTA. Candidates mentioned in that list are only allowed to appear JEE advance.
You have to prepare yourself so that you can perform your best in both the exams.

Gourav yes if you get your name in the merit list for Jee advance which is made by the NTA board

Gourav merit list will be released after jee mains results is released. it is new one every year. you can check it yourself when it will be released from NTA official webpage
