If i passed the jipmer mbbs exam then marks should require for enroll in jipmer
Hi Gyaneshwar,
Obviously it depends on the category you belong to,let me break it down in simple terms.
For the counselling JIPMER calls students more than the number of places to be filled, to be exact 1:8 was the number for 2018 counselling. So I can just tell you what would be the limit of rank you need to get to be called for counselling but it doesn’t ensures seat in the college.
- For General category. From rank 1 to 592
- For SC. From rank 1 to 160
- For OBC. From rank 1 to 297
- For ST. From 1 to 72
Also for Pondicherry residents ranks are different.
- For General category. From rank 1 to 257
- For SC. From rank 1 to 48
- For OBC. From rank 1 to 104
- For ST. From rank 1 to 12
There are other categories as well like NRI/OCI ( from rank 1 to 48 ), OPH ( from rank 1 to 48 ) and for Pondicherry OPH ( from rank 1 to 6).
So now all you need to get into JIPMER, is to work on how to get in the range of these numbers.
I suppose you belong to the UR category. Accordingly the cutoff for JIPMER MBBS exam is 50th percentile.
Obviously, there exists a particular rank up to which JIPMER fulfills it's seats, for that a rank below 160 is highly recommended taking into consideration the tough competition in the present scenario.
Likewise, your marks should be above 700 out of 800.
Hope I could help you.
All the Best !
