If you had registered yourself for counselling of Tamil Nadu and at the time of counselling and physical verification of the NEET counselling then automatically your counselling will be canceled.
You have to be present and take part in the counselling session as per the rules.

There are numbers of Candidates appear from state out of which some didn't get qualified in neet so they don't register. If some Candidates have low marks and they are knowing they will not get any college so such Candidates also doesn't register.
So if you want to be part of counselling and rank list you will have to register.
So after the registration process itself the rank list get prepared for all registered for counselling. Only the Candidates who have name in rank list can proceed for further counselling.
After registration there will be choice filling according to your priorities and then you will have to lock the choice. After this based on marks and ranks Candidates are allocated different colleges.
So once you get registered for tamilnadu state counselling and you have qualified in neet,your name will come in state rank list.

If you successfully registered for counselling and does not lock the choices or attend the counselling, your name will show on the merit list . It is due to the merit list will be released prior to the allocation of the college.
Candidates are advised to carry only the following items with them into the examination venue:
- Admit Card along with Self Declaration (Undertaking) downloaded from the NTA website (a clear printout on A4 size paper) duly filled in.
- A simple transparent Ball Point Pen
- Additional photograph, to be pasted on attendance sheet
- Personal hand sanitizer (50 ml)
- Personal transparent water bottle
- Valid ID proof (PAN card/Driving License/Voter ID/12th Class Board Admit or Registration card/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (With photograph)/ E-Aadhaar/ Ration Card/ Aadhaar Enrolment No. with Photo)
