Hi,
AFoundation doctor(FY1 or FY2also known as ahouse officer) is a grade ofmedical practitioner in the United Kingdom undertaking theFoundation Programme a two-year, general postgraduate medical training programme which forms the bridge between medical school and specialist/general practice training.
In the November of your FY2, just over a yearafter you leave medical school, you will be able to apply forspeciality training. This could be General Practice, Core Medical Training, Core Surgical Training, the Acute Care Common Stem (ACCS) or a sub-speciality such as Paediatrics or Radiology.
