Yes, eye sight is an important factor for this.Before joing you have to clear the medical test but if you have other capabilities sometimes they even ignore that.What basically matters is your rank in IIT JEE or STATE ENTRANCE EXAM for the entrance.Anyway, you can get away with the eyesight problem through laser.I think it's not going to affect alot.Just give your best.
